In its determination to create a different world, the Five Hotel has used one of the most noble of Asian arts: lacquer. You will recognize the art of Isabel Emmerique in all the rooms of the Five Hotel. Isabel has been working with Chinese lacquer for 30 years; she is very well known abroad and is the only non-Asian artist to have won the Kanasawa Triennale prize in Japan. Thanks to her ultramodern works you can rediscover the Chinese lacquer approach… elsewhere and differently. The distinctive features of the Scintillating Canopy rooms are the lighting and the beautiful canopy beds, where you will discover fiber optic lights in the rooms above the bed and in bathrooms. Every room has an original art piece specifically made for that room, signed Isabelle Emmerique. The beds are very comfortable and the bathrooms Zen and trendy. The shower walls are lined with fiber-optic lights that seemingly change the color of the water. You can also choose one of five ambient perfumes to be set before your arrival, upon which you will also discover rose petals sprinkled on the bed.
